🏒 Dale West | Collingwood Blues posted a 3-0 win over the Leamington Flyers on Friday Night
Owen Edwards posted his second shut of the season and Atom Thususka scored yet another game winner against Leamington as Collingwood posted a 3-0 win over the Flyers Friday night in Collingwood.
Collingwood outshot the Flyers 49-27 as they controlled the stats and the ice much like they did in the first match up last week. Colten Drillen Roach had another strong game for the Flyers but his efforts were only enough to keep the score respectable. Collingwood had a 2-0 lead after 1 with Thususka getting both.
The Flyers did show some spark in the third with a flurry just before the half way point. Owen Edwards made three highlight reel saves in the opening half of the third to keep his team up two nothing. That performance held the fort until Wyatt Jinman scored his 5th of the game to settle the score for the night.
With the 27 save shut out Edwards has now pushed his goals against average down to 1.44 and his save percentage up to .948
With the win the Mike Jackson Collingwood Blues have won three in a row since the loss last week in Leamington. The Flyers have lost two of three.
The Blues next three games are against half of the top six in the Eastern Conference. Saturday the Blues are in Cobourgh. Next week Collingwood plays Stouffville and Trenton at the Governors Showcase games in Niagara Falls.
