(Tay, ON) – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay (SGB) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a single motor vehicle collision at Highway 12 between Triple Bay Road and Talbot Street in Tay Township.
On May 13th, 2026 about 2:07 a.m., SGB OPP, along with Tay Fire, and County of Simcoe Paramedics, responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle. A male was located in the vehicle by police who then administered life saving efforts. Paramedics arrived soon after and together emergency services personnel continued life saving efforts. Paramedics then transported the 25-year-old male to a local area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) have attended the scene to assist with the investigation and Highway 12 has now been re-opened at Triple Bay Road and Talbot Street.
The investigation is still ongoing. No further details to be released at this time.
