COLLINGWOOD, ON – Georgian Trail E-Bike Rentals is continuing to grow its presence across South Georgian Bay with the addition of new all-terrain electric bikes, expanded rental access points, and new tourism collaborations designed to help visitors and locals explore the region in a fun, active, and accessible way.
Since launching in late Summer 2022 with just 8 e-bikes at their flagship Collingwood location, this contactless and self-serve rental business has steadily expanded its fleet, service areas, and partnerships throughout the region. Georgian Trail E-Bike Rentals now operates in both Collingwood and Blue Mountains (with another location expected to launch soon), alongside growing collaborations with local tourism operators.
As part of the company’s newest expansion, Georgian Trail E-Bike Rentals has upgraded their fleet with new Himiway D5 2.0 e-bikes. With all the features of their previous Zebra e- bikes: all-terrain capability, pedal assist technology, throttle functionality, and fat tire design, this new model has added features like: full suspension, turn signals, and cruise control. This e-bike is built exceptionally superior to comfortably handle trails, roads, waterfront routes, and varying terrain throughout the South Georgian Bay area.
“We started Georgian Trail E-Bike Rentals to give both locals and tourists the opportunity to explore the South Georgian Bay area in a fun, eco-friendly, and eYicient way,” said the company’s founders. “We love being able to help people experience the trails, the Bay, local shops, restaurants, cafes, and hidden gems throughout the region – all while making cycling more accessible to riders of diYerent ages and abilities.”
The company says one of the most rewarding parts of operating the business has been hearing from riders who thought their cycling days were behind them. The electric pedal assist system allows riders to stay active while providing extra support when needed, helping many customers comfortably enjoy longer rides and more challenging routes.
Beyond rentals, Georgian Trail E-Bike Rentals has also focused heavily on tourism collaboration and community partnerships. The business works alongside local accommodations and businesses to create connected visitor experiences, including partnerships with Bed & Breakfasts that allow guests to access e-bike rentals directly from their stay.
The company also launched its “Down by the Bay” Passport Program, which offers rental customers exclusive discounts and perks at participating local businesses throughout the region.
In 2023, Georgian Trail E-Bike Rentals received the Best Bicycle Friendly Business Award from Ontario By Bike, helping further establish the business as a growing contributor to cycling tourism in Ontario.
As members of the Apple Pie Trail, Georgian Trail E-Bike Rentals is proud to be the official mode of transportation for those looking to see more of what the region has to offer with this exciting loop of activities. Providing front baskets on their rental e-bikes at their locations along the trail, allows riders to properly store all of the apple merchandise picked up along the way.
With continued demand for outdoor recreation, eco-tourism, and experiential travel, the company says it plans to continue expanding its rental fleet, partnerships, and destination oYerings year-over-year while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience, accessibility, and community connection.
