Collingwood, ON [26 March 2026] – The Town of Collingwood is launching a comprehensive Downtown Parking Study aimed at better understanding current parking use and identifying opportunities for improvement to support residents, businesses, and visitors.
The study will include detailed data collection and analysis, along with a review of existing policies, procedures, and practices. Public engagement will play a central role, with input gathered from residents, local businesses, and visitors to help guide future parking strategies.
In addition to a survey, the project team will conduct further stakeholder consultations to explore parking needs, concerns, and priorities in greater depth. Community members are encouraged to subscribe to the project webpage to stay informed.
The Downtown Parking Study aims to:
• Help ensure there are convenient parking options so residents can easily access shops, restaurants, and services in town.
• Help us plan ahead so parking works for both residents and the growing number of visitors.
• Assist us in understanding parking patterns, which helps improve safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
• Ensure valuable street and land space is used in ways that benefit the whole community.
Community Input Encouraged
Public feedback is essential to the study’s success and will directly inform future parking policies and decisions. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to complete the survey to ensure their perspectives are included.
