Niagara Escarpment: Land Between Waters comes to life through a rich blend of photography, storytelling, and perspectives from leaders dedicated to the future of this extraordinary region. Waterdown‑based photographer and publisher Mark Zelinski — a Governor General’s Medal‑winner and Fellow of both the Explorer’s Club and the Royal Canadian Geographic Society— presents highlights from his tenth book, a visually expansive tribute featuring more than 600 landscape, wildlife, and cultural photographs spanning Southern Ontario to Manitoulin Island.
Zelinski’s long career includes work in over 80 countries and his widely recognized “Books That Heal” initiative, through which he has donated thousands of photography books to charities worldwide. With forewords by Elder Josh Eshkawkogan and Carolyn King, the book reflects a multi‑layered understanding of the escarpment’s ecological, cultural, and historical significance.
Zelinski is joined by guest speakers and contributors whose work in conservation, science, and Indigenous knowledge deepens the portrait of the living escarpment — its land, its waters, and the communities connected to it.
A visually compelling and thought‑provoking exploration of one of Canada’s most remarkable landscapes.
