Navigating September: How to Set Meaningful Goals for the New Season

    Sharing is SO MUCH APPRECIATED!

We all feel it – the subtle shift that comes with September.

The kids are back in school, the air has a crispness to it, summer’s social calendar is winding down, and routine is starting to creep back in.

September often brings a sense of change, which can be exciting to embrace. Many people use this time to set new goals or adopt fresh habits. While having goals is fantastic for direction and a sense of achievement, it can also present challenges.

Take a moment to reflect on how you want to feel this season. Let your answer guide you in setting one or two goals or actions that align with that feeling, and identify one or two habits you want to reduce to achieve it. For instance, this season, I aim to feel more rested. To achieve this, my goal is to have a consistent bedtime and wake time which supports my natural circadian rhythm, and a better quality sleep. I’m also incorporating a morning walk in the fresh air to boost my energy levels. On the other side of things, the habit I want to reduce is mindlessly scrolling through my phone on social media before bed. By setting manageable goals and adjusting my habits, I’m paving the way to achieve the restful, energized feeling I’m striving for.

Here are some feelings that might resonate with you, or you might be thinking you want to strive for this time of year:

    • Feeling stronger
    • More balanced
    • Gaining clarity
    • Experiencing less stress
    • Having more energy

The list could go on, but the key is to focus on how YOU want to feel and ensure that your steps toward that goal are sustainable and manageable. Another effective strategy for this time of year is to seek accountability. Whether through a friend, a family member, or a professional practitioner, having someone to support you can make a significant difference, especially if you need extra guidance or therapeutic approaches to achieve your desired outcome.

If you’re looking to make a positive change and feel differently this season, now is the perfect time to start. I offer 15 minute complimentary phone calls to answer any questions about naturopathic medicine you may have, and how I can help you.

Let’s explore why previous health goals might not have been met and how we can overcome those challenges this time around. I’m eager to hear about your goals and am passionate about supporting you and our community.  Let’s work together to make this season transformative!
