(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – On May 23, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program when a vehicle failed to stop and fled from police.
At approximately 2:50 a.m., officers located the involved vehicle. As a result of the investigation, Brennan MOREAU, a 24-year-old of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in relation to these charges.
Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP remain committed to community safety through proactive traffic enforcement initiatives. The OPP reminds all motorists that failing to stop for police or other emergency services places the public, first responders, and the driver at significant risk.
Drivers are required by law to safely pull over to the right when signaled by emergency vehicles.
