    County of Simcoe to recognize Age-Friendly Champions

    Midhurst/January 23, 2025ย โ€“ On January 28, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., the County of Simcoeโ€™s is hosting its second annual Age-Friendly Business and Age-Friendly Individual Recognition Awards. This ceremony showcases the many individuals, businesses and organizations that have had a significant impact on continuing to make our communities even more inclusive. Outstanding community champions from the Towns of Midland, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, and New Tecumseth; Townships of Tay, Springwater and Tiny and cities of Barrie and Orillia will be honoured.

    The Age-Friendly Committee held an open call for nominations as part of the Countyโ€™s Age-Friendly Community Program. Launched in 2016, this program boosts awareness of the Countyโ€™s aging population and helps businesses and organizations enhance their environments and services to better suit the needs of older adults across the region.
