Flags Flying at Half-Mast in Remembrance of Joan Gaudet

    Sharing is SO MUCH APPRECIATED!

The Town of The Blue Mountains will be flying the Town Hall flags at half-mast to mark the passing of community member Joan Gaudet. Joan was recognized as The Blue Mountains Senior of the Year in 2018 in recognition of her work with local community groups including Beaver Valley Outreach, the Lions Club, the Marsh Street Centre and The Blue Mountains Public Library.

Joan was an enthusiastic and committed member of any organization she worked with. While working with the Lions, she coordinated the collection of thousands of used eyeglasses, including over 2,500 pairs she has personally collected. She also collected and crushed thousands of pop cans yearly and held home BBQ benefit events for needy individuals or groups.

On behalf of Council and staff, the Town would like to share its sincere condolences with the Gaudet family. The flags at Town Hall will remain lowered until Monday, June 16, 2025, out of respect for Joan and her family.
