    Meet Nikik

Nikik is a 1 year old female Medium Mixed Breed who weighs 15 kilograms.

    Hi Friends,

I’m Nikik (pronounced Nigig)-a name that means Otter in Cree. The young pup that I was was given this name with intention and love. In Cree culture, Otter medicine is the medicine of woman-it represents the balance of female energy. Otters are playful, curious, adventurous, full of life, and friendly. And I’ve truly grown into my name! I’ve thrived with this Cree medicine name and, like Otter, I’ve become a happy, loving, and energetic puppy. I’m always ready to play, explore, and seek out connection-no matter my past. I’m a one-year-old girl who’s smart, sweet, and full of love. I’m looking for a family who will embrace who I am and help guide me to be my very best self. I’m incredibly affectionate-I love cuddling and will happily curl up with you for some snuggle time. I’m also quite curious and driven by my nose, like any good hound. Smells are my thing! Sometimes I pull on leash because I get so excited about the world around me. People, cars, and bikes don’t faze me-but squirrels, birds, and other dogs might get me talking with a good bay or bark. Once the moment passes, I settle down just fine.

I do have a high prey drive, so a home without small animals or cats would be best. I’ve lived with other dogs before, like my buddy Wawaskisw and another male dog, and we got along well. I can meet new dogs on-leash too-just give me a slow and thoughtful introduction. I’m still learning some manners (I might swipe a shoe or two, and I’m not 100% housebroken yet), but I’m smart and eager to learn. I just need consistency, patience, and a secure environment to help me succeed. Kids? I love them! I’d do great in a family that understands hound behavior and is excited to help me channel my energy and intelligence into positive adventures. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, scent-driven girl to share your life with, I just might be the one. Let’s meet-I’ll bring the nose, you bring the love!

My adoption fee is $400 and includes my spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, dewormer and a microchip. If you want to learn more about me, please come visit the GTHS and speak with one of the amazing Adoption Counsellors! The GTHS is open for adoptions from 12pm-4:00pm, every single day of the week and they would be thrilled to introduce you to me! I can’t wait to meet you and am looking forward to starting my new life with my new family!

    Affectionate Tail Wags,

    Nikik

    Meet Miss Kitty

Miss Kitty is a 6 years, 5 months old female Domestic Shorthair/Mix cat who weighs 4 kilograms.

    Hi There,

My name is Miss Kitty and I am a super sweet, affectionate 6-year-old lady looking for my new home! I really, really, really love people! I love getting as much attention and affection as possible! I have been described as an affectionate, playful, active, quiet couch potato. I think that sounds pretty great. I will take a bit of time to adjust to my new surroundings so please give me a little time and patience and get that couch ready because once I am comfortable I am ready to be the loving potato of your dreams!

My adoption fee is $185 and includes my spay/neuter, internal and external parasite treatments, up to date vaccinations and an ID microchip!

    Happy Purrs,
