    Sharing is SO MUCH APPRECIATED!

Midhurst/April 16, 2025 – The County of Simcoe reminds residents of the following schedule changes during the Easter holiday from Friday, April 18, 2025, to Monday, April 21, 2025.

    Regular Curbside Waste Collection (Carts)

    ·         Waste Collection is ongoing as there is no change to the County’s waste collection schedule.

    Waste Drop-off Facilities

To further support residents, waste drop-off facilities and temporary brush drop-off facilities will have extended operating days over the Easter long weekend. Many of our locations will be open on Friday, Saturday and Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; however, some sites will only be collecting brush during these revised hours of operation.

To determine Easter Weekend Hours and the types of materials being accepted at each site:

    ·         Download or view the Simcoe County Collects App

    ·         Visit simcoe.ca/waste

    ·         Review the chart below:

A reminder that brush drop-off related to the ice-storm is free of charge until the end of May for all County residents and contractors. Utilizing these expanded drop-off sites is the quickest way to clean up your property. Hours of operation may change.

Residents are asked to visit simcoe.ca/waste or download the Simcoe County Collects App and monitor schedules.

    Leaf and Yard Waste Collection

The County reminds residents that regular leaf and yard waste collection will be delayed at least two weeks in most communities due to storm-related brush collection efforts. Leaf and Yard Waste crews and vehicles are currently working in Ramara, Severn and Oro-Medonte Townships to support brush collection efforts.

    LINX Transit

    ·         LINX Transit services are not in operation for Friday, April 18, 2025 (with the exception of Route 4).

o    Route 4 only will be operating on a Sunday schedule for Friday, April 18, 2025.

    ·         Return to regularly scheduled services for all routes on Monday, April 21, 2025.

    ·         Please visit https://nextlinx.simcoe.ca/ to check all route schedules

County Administration Centre (Midhurst) & Service Simcoe Contact Centre

    ·         The Administration Centre, including the Service Simcoe Contact Centre, will be closed Friday, April 18, 2025, to Monday, April 21, 2025.

    Ontario Works and Children Services

    ·         All Ontario Works and Children Services offices will be closed Friday, April 18, 2025, to Monday, April 21, 2025.

    Lake Simcoe Regional Airport

    ·         The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport will be operating Friday, April 18, 2025, to Monday, April 21, 2025.
