OPP Investigating Street-Level Robbery in Collingwood

    Sharing is SO MUCH APPRECIATED!

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a street-level robbery that occurred in the downtown core of Collingwood overnight on Friday, July 11, into the early hours of Saturday, July 12, 2025.

At approximately 1:08 a.m., officers responded to an incident on Ste. Marie Street, near the parking lot adjacent to the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena. Upon arrival, police located two individuals in distress, both of whom had been sprayed with bear spray. One of the victims also sustained a visible head injury. Both individuals were transported to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

Preliminary information suggests the victims were approached by a group of approximately seven individuals. One of the suspects was reported to have partially covered their face with a t-shirt. The group fled through the parking lot toward Hurontario Street prior to police arrival.

Officers conducted extensive patrols in the area and followed up on several leads, including traffic stops involving individuals in the vicinity. The investigation has since been taken over by the Collingwood OPP Crime Unit.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit information online at www.crimestopperssdm.com.

In addition, the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP encourage residents and businesses to register their security cameras with the CAMSafe program at www.camsafe.ca.This voluntary registry assists police in identifying potential sources of video evidence during investigations. Police do not have live access to registered cameras, and participants retain full control, providing footage only upon request.
