(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – The Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to multiple traffic-related incidents from Monday, June 16, to Thursday, June 19, 2025. This weekly update highlights key traffic enforcement efforts and collision investigations in our communities.
In Collingwood, ON, a two-vehicle collision occurred on First Street near Pine Street on Monday, June 16. One of the vehicles fled the scene with extensive damage. Through investigation, Collingwood officers were able to identify and locate the involved driver. A 55-year-old male from Wasaga Beach, ON has been charged with Dangerous operation under the Criminal Code and Fail to remain under the Highway Traffic Act.
In Thornbury, ON, a youth was struck by a motor vehicle on the afternoon of Monday, June 16. The involved vehicle accelerated out of control, jumped the sidewalk and struck the pedestrian. Property was also damaged as a result of the collision. The youth suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries and a 76-year-old female from Thornbury has been charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
With the end of the school year and pleasant weather prompting more travel, the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP call on all drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic laws to keep our roads safe in the days ahead.
