OPP DRUG TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN MULTIPLE ARRESTS AND NUMEROUS CHARGES

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) from Collingwood and Huronia West Detachment, with assistance from Hunstville and Peterborough Detachments and York Regional Police executed four search warrants in Vaughan and Barrie following a drug trafficking investigation.

In early fall of 2025 the Collingwood OPP Community Street Crime Unit commenced an extensive drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Collingwood. Utilizing surveillance and investigative techniques the primary suspects were observed to be engaged in activities consistent with drug trafficking. As a result of this evidence four search warrants were obtained.

On November 25, 2025 the following individuals were arrested under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act:

Nicole Quaresma (32 years-old) of Collingwood:

  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)

Hudson Reeve (24 years-old) of Collingwood:

  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
  • CC 91(2) Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
  • CC 91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • CC91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (two counts)
  • CC 86(1) Careless storage of firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition (two counts)
  • CC 91(1) Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • CC 92(2) Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • CC 354(1)(a) Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada
  • CC 117.01(1) Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (three counts)
  • CC 108(1)(b) Possession of a Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With

Immediately following the arrests, investigators executed four separate search warrants in Vaughan and Barrie. Ultimately; 511.3 grams of suspected cocaine, 417.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, 80 grams of suspected oxycodone and three firearms were seized.

The accused were both held for a bail hearing.

Collingwood OPP Auxiliary Toy and Food Drive is Coming to Town!

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – Auxiliary officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in partnership with the Salvation Army will be holding their annual food and toy drive this Saturday, November 29th between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. 

Collingwood OPP Auxiliary members will be at the Collingwood Walmart and Canadian Tire locations collecting new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items in support of the Salvation Army. 

All residents are encouraged this Saturday to stop by and meet the local Auxiliary officers. All donations really do make a difference in people’s lives this time of year and the Ontario Provincial Police in conjunction with the Salvation Army would greatly appreciate the community’s support.

County of Simcoe Paramedic Services Food and Toy Drive | Week Three Update

Midhurst/November 27, 2025 – County of Simcoe Paramedic Services’ 23rd annual Food and Toy Drive is in full swing!

Community generosity is already shining through with 708 toys, 891 pounds of food, and $6,053.23 in donations and gift cards collected so far. These contributions will make a real difference for residents in need across Simcoe County.

HURONIA WEST OPP’S TRAFFIC SAFETY INITIATIVE RESULTED IN 41 DISTRACTED DRIVING CHARGES IN ONE DAY

(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, WASAGA BEACH, ON) – On November 26, 2025, members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic safety enforcement initiative throughout Clearview Township, Springwater Township and Wasaga Beach, with increased attention to school and community safety zones. During a 12-hour shift, officers charged 41 drivers with distracted driving, including 15 offences committed in a school zone while officers were monitoring a crosswalk as students made their way to school.

Penalties for distracted driving include:

  • 1st offence: $615 ticket (up to $1,000 in court), 3 demerit points, 3-day licence suspension
  • 2nd offence: $615 (up to $2,000), 6 demerit points, 7-day suspension
  • 3rd+ offence: $615 (up to $3,000), 6 demerit points, 30-day suspension
