Misalignment of the circadian rhythm, due to genetics, sleep disorders, or inconsistent schedules, can exacerbate these symptoms. Additional contributors include inflammation, which peaks for some people in the morning, and underlying conditions like sleep deprivation, insomnia, or physical illnesses such as low thyroid function or anemia.

Treatment focuses on resetting the circadian rhythm and managing cortisol through light therapy, melatonin microdosing, consistent sleep hygiene, and gradually building a positive morning routine. Simple actions like taking one step out of bed, drinking water, or practicing gratitude can help counteract the depressive freeze response. Talk therapy and medication, particularly SNRIs, can also provide significant relief. By addressing these biological and behavioral factors, individuals can create mornings that feel manageable and even uplifting. Undersea fiber-optic cables are the world’s information superhighways with over 95% of the world’s international data traveling through them.

This not only includes email, video calls, and streaming but also financial transactions and government communications. Tech giants including Google, Amazon, Meta and Microsoft are heavily investing in building subsea cable infrastructure to service their AI demands and connect their growing network of data centers. Because of the importance of this infrastructure however, subsea cables have become the targets of suspected sabotage. To understand how subsea cables work, CNBC visited Alcatel Submarine Networks subsea cable manufacturing facilities in Calais, France and Greenwich, England. STAYING SAFE DURING THIS WINTER SEASON

(ORILLIA, ON) – As temperatures begin to drop across the province, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reminds all motorists to prepare for the winter season. 

A few proactive steps can significantly reduce the risk of traffic incidents, especially during icy and snowy conditions.

Motorists are encouraged to:

  • Install winter tires for improved traction and control
  • Schedule routine maintenance checks, including brakes, battery, fluids and heating systems
  • Ensure windshield wipers and defrosters are functioning properly
  • Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle, including blankets, a flashlight, and non-perishable snacks

Slippery roads, reduced visibility and changing conditions require extra caution. Adjust your driving to meet the conditions and remain focused on the road and on other vehicles.

Always:

  •  Stay alert – slow down and increase your following distance, especially in snowy or icy conditions
  • Avoid braking suddenly, always use your headlights in low visibility and remember to clear ALL snow from your vehicle before driving
  • Give yourself extra time to reach your destination and be respectful of other road users
  • Before heading out, check the MTO’s Ontario 511 and Traveller Information Service for 24/7 and up-to-date access to road information on provincially maintained highways, and monitor local radio for updates

COLLABORATIVE OPP and Ministry of Natural Resources PATROL RESULTS IN CRIMINAL CHARGE

(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – Members of the Central Region Snow Vehicle, All-Terrain Vehicle, Vessel Enforcement and Education (SAVE) Team of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting joint patrols with a Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) Conservation Officer in Simcoe County. During the patrol, a routine stop led to a driver being charged under the Criminal Code of Canada.

On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, an OPP SAVE Team member was conducting joint patrols with an MNR and Forestry Conservation Officer in Simcoe County. The patrol focused on enforcement related to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act (FWCA), Off-Road Vehicles Act, and checking hunters for firearm safety.

During these routine patrols, officers stopped a vehicle under the authority of the FWCA. During the interaction, an odour of alcohol was detected.

As a result of the investigation, Liam WANNAMAKER, 24 of Wasaga Beach, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

• Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand 

The accused was also served with a 90-day automatic driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment notice.

Officers want to remind everyone that this offence carries the same penalties as impaired driving, including a criminal record, driver’s licence suspension, a minimum $2,000 fine, and possible jail time. Even if you haven’t consumed alcohol or drugs, refusing a test is treated just as seriously. Cooperating with police helps keep our roads safe for everyone.

Impaired driving remains a serious threat to community safety. Officers continue to work in partnership with other agencies to ensure compliance with provincial and federal laws. If you suspect someone is driving impaired, call 9-1-1 immediately. Your call could save a life.

Catastrophizing is imagining the worst. It’s taking a difficult situation and interpreting it as being horrible, terrible, and unrecoverable. We’ve all known that person who, if they got a “B” on a test wailed “I’m failing Math class”. Many of us have had that parent who, when we didn’t want to do our chores they said something like “If you don’t do your chores, your college roommates will hate you and no one will want to marry you.” Like in the story about the jack, Catastrophizing often starts with a genuine setback, like getting a flat tire in the middle of nowhere, but then the thinking error turns that reality into the belief that something horrible is bound to happen- “I’m going to get shot, attacked and robbed!”. At its root, catastrophizing is about our habitual response to challenges or shortcomings. So take a second, pause this video and ask yourself: How do you think about failure? HUNTSVILLE O.P.P. SEEING AN ALARMING CYBER FRAUD TREND

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) –  The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police want bring the communities attention to a trending cyber frauds in our area.

Victims are receiving pop ups on their computer from either Microsoft or UltraViewer stating that their computer has been hacked or contains virus etc.… and that they need to call the number provided. Thus, leading the individuals to pay amounts of money to have the “viruses” removed – victims have lost thousands of dollars as this is a scam.

If this happens to you, DO NOT call the number provided or click on any links. Take your computer to a computer servicing company to have it addressed. This is also what Microsoft is suggesting to protect against tech support scams:

How to protect against tech support scams

First, be sure to follow these tips on how to keep your computer secure.

It is also important to keep the following in mind:

  • Microsoft does not send unsolicited email messages or make unsolicited phone calls to request personal or financial information, or to provide technical support to fix your computer. If you didn’t ask them to, they won’t call you to offer support.
  • If a pop-up or error message appears with a phone number, don’t call the number. Error and warning messages from Microsoft never include a phone number.
  • Microsoft will never ask that you pay for support in the form of cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, or gift cards.
  • Download software only from official Microsoft partner websites or the Microsoft Store. Be wary of downloading software from third-party sites, as some of them might have been modified without the author’s knowledge to bundle malware and other threats.
  • Use Microsoft Edge when browsing the internet. It blocks known support scam sites using Microsoft Defender SmartScreen. Also, Microsoft Edge can stop pop-up dialog loops used by these attackers.

If you suspect fraudulent activity or have been a victim of fraud, report it immediately to your local police and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 or online via the Fraud Reporting System.
