Town of Collingwood to Host Unheard Echoes: Haudenosaunee Blood Memory

0
Collingwood, ON [23 September 2025] – The Town of Collingwood, in partnership with the Indigenous-led Six Nations Investigating Paranormal Encounters (S.N.I.P.E.) members, is proud to present Unheard Echoes: Haudenosaunee Blood Memory on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Simcoe Street Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 7:00 p.m. Registration is free but required through Eventbrite.
Unheard Echoes is a powerful and contemplative presentation exploring six months of paranormal investigation collected by S.N.I.P.E. While the former Mohawk Institute Residential School known as the Mush Hole serves as a central site in this journey, the presentation expands beyond its walls to include experiences and evidence gathered from other spiritually significant locations.

Through spiritual connection, respectful storytelling, and recorded phenomena, S.N.I.P.E. shares insights grounded in truth, not spectacle. Evidence once held under a non-disclosure agreement, including electronic voice phenomena (EVP), visual anomalies, and moments of spiritual engagement, will be revealed with care and permission.

This evening will offer a rare opportunity to learn about S.N.I.P.E.’s investigative process, the cultural connection to paranormal investigations, and the broader scope of their work. Unheard Echoes is not a ghost story it is a call to witness ancestral voices, to engage in healing, and to recognize the enduring echoes of Indigenous experience.

Impaired Driving Charges Laid Following Off-Road Vehicle Crash

0

(TINY TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Saturday, September 20, 2025, at approximately 11:49 p.m., officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment responded to a report of an off-road vehicle (ORV) crash in the bush area near Nineth Concession East and Baseline Road.

A John Deere side-by-side ORV struck a downed tree, resulting in serious injuries to a 31-year-old male passenger. Emergency services, including Tiny Township Fire and Simcoe County Paramedics, attended the scene and transported the injured individual to hospital.

The 29-year-old male driver was arrested at the scene and transported for further investigation. As a result, David PETTEN of Tiny Township has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 2, 2025. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the ORV was impounded for 7 days under ADLS guidelines.

The OPP reminds the public that impaired driving-whether on roads, trails, or waterways-puts lives at risk. If you suspect someone is driving impaired, call 9-1-1.

Suspicious Vehicle Patrol Leads to Impaired Dirt Bike Investigation

0

(TINY TOWNSHIP, ON)- A Sergeant from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducting a neighbourhood patrol for suspicious vehicles and persons nabbed a dirt bike roaring around the Copeland Creek neighbourhood at approximately 11:30 p.m. August 30, 2025.

The officer made the stop on Timberland Court after encountering the dirt bike being operated without any lights or licence plates on the roadway and upon speaking to the driver, entered into an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of this investigation, 21 year old Nicholas HANCOCK of Midland has been charged criminally with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) along with a number of Provincial Offences Act violations.

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on September 18, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

The OPP remains committed to taking alcohol/drug-impaired drivers off our roads through enforcement and public education. If you know or suspect that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, call 9-1-1. In doing so, you may save a life.  The OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead and to use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements. Enforcement and education is essential to save lives and reduce injuries on our trails, roadways and waterways.
