Town of Collingwood Announces 2026/27 Youth Communications Ambassador
Collingwood, ON [07 October, 2026] – The Town of Collingwood is pleased to announce that Saanvi Gupta, former Youth Mayor, has been selected as the Town’s 2026/27 Youth Communications Ambassador (YCA).

The YCA initiative gives local students hands-on experience in communications, marketing, and digital content creation while helping the Town connect with youth through engaging, relevant content.

“I’m really excited to take on this role because it gives me the opportunity to help connect youth with the Town and make sure their ideas and voices are heard,” says Saanvi. “I’m looking forward to creating projects that get young people more involved in our community and making a positive impact throughout the year.”
As YCA, Saanvi will work alongside Town staff throughout the 2026/27 school year to share information about programs, events, services, and initiatives that matter to local youth. She will help create social media content, contribute creative ideas, and provide a youth perspective to strengthen communication between the Town and young residents.

“We were impressed by the talent and creativity in Saanvi’s application,” said Christa Carter, Manager of Public Relations and Communications. “We are excited to work with her as we continue to strengthen how we connect and engage with youth in our community.”

Through the program, Saanvi will create youth-focused content, including videos, reels, social media posts, and other digital storytelling opportunities, while gaining valuable real-world experience and volunteer hours.

About the Youth Communications Ambassador Initiative
The YCA Initiative provides local students entering Grades 11 and 12 with meaningful opportunities to contribute to community communications while developing valuable skills in content creation, digital marketing, storytelling, and public engagement.

This initiative aligns with the Town’s Community-Based Strategic Plan by expanding opportunities for youth to engage more actively and positively in local government
