The Ultra-Rich Kingdom the World Doesn’t Understand – Inside Qatar:    • The Ultra-Rich Kingdom the World Doesn’t U…

Lie to Me is the story of how tech nerd and blockchain expert Bjørn Bjercke overturned the OneCoin pyramid scheme—the biggest crypto fraud in history. But more than that, it is an exploration of greed, villains, nerdy heroes, and personal tragedies in both the digital world and real life.

Launched in 2014, OneCoin promised to be the world’s biggest cryptocurrency. However, all legitimate cryptocurrencies run on blockchains, and OneCoin never had one. Months later, Bjercke was headhunted by a recruitment agency and offered a large salary, a car, and a flat to build one from scratch. Realizing the lack of a blockchain meant the entire operation was a scam, Bjercke immediately went public.

Yet, others who were offered similarly lucrative positions—and also knew it was a fraud—accepted the jobs. Why do some people go along with a scam while others blow the whistle? Why were millions so ready to believe in OneCoin, and why do so many still refuse to admit it was all a con? How can we learn to spot these red flags? Bjørn’s story is supported by a rich trove of archive material, featuring interviews with fraud hunters, journalists, crypto experts, and victims from Oslo, London, Stockholm, and Uganda. Since the fall of OneCoin, Bjørn has worked with global authorities to expose new, rising scams that use the exact same formula. As he warns: “It’s still the same message. Recruit more members.” This documentary first aired in March 2024 at the CPH: DOX festival in Denmark.
