✅ Reminder: Voting Period Open Until October 26

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to remind eligible electors that the Voting Period for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election for The Town of The Blue Mountains is open until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026.

As of Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., 2,717 votes have been cast by eligible electors in The Blue Mountains.

The Town is sharing important information about voter registration, voting options, available assistance and accessibility measures to assist eligible electors throughout the Voting Period.

Eligible electors in the Town of The Blue Mountains can vote online or by telephone from anywhere, at any time during the Voting Period. For step-by-step instructions on how to vote, residents are encouraged to watch Simply Voting’s How to Vote video guide, available on the Town’s Election webpage.

Eligible electors registered on the Voters’ List should have received their Voter Information Letter by mail. The letter contains the information needed to vote, including a unique Personal Identification Number (PIN). Eligible electors who did not receive their letter can check whether they are on the Voters’ List by using the online Voter Look-Up tool. Eligible electors who are not currently on the Voters’ List can also register through the same tool by providing the required information and uploading photos of accepted pieces of identification. For a list of accepted pieces of identification, as well as eligibility criteria, please visit the Town’s Elections webpage.

Alternatively, eligible electors can visit the Election Help Centre at Town Hall, located at 32 Mill Street, Thornbury, to register to vote, receive their Voter Information Letter, check registration status and answer questions about the election. Accepted pieces of identification are required to register and receive the Voter Information Letter. For electors who prefer to vote using a computer at Town Hall or require assistance with the voting process, Town staff will be available at the Election Help Centre.

The Election Help Centre will provide service to the public, including extended hours, on the following dates:

  • Thursday, October 22: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday, October 23: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 24: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Monday, October 26: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The L.E. Shore Memorial Library will also have a computer terminal available for electors wishing to vote online during regular library hours. Public Wi-Fi is available at both Town Hall and the Library for residents who wish to vote using their personal devices.

The Town is committed to providing an accessible election and ensuring that all candidates and electors with disabilities have full and equal access to election information and services, including assistance available at the Election Help Centre. As part of this commitment, the Town has published its 2026 Election Accessibility Plan, which outlines measures to identify, remove and prevent barriers that may affect candidates and electors with disabilities.

Residents are encouraged to review the Accessibility Plan and other election resources available on the Town’s Elections webpage. Questions about the election or requests for additional assistance can also be directed to the Clerk’s Office at townclerk@thebluemountains.ca.
