๐จ๐ฆ National Seniors Day | County of Simcoe to recognize Age-Friendly Champions

Midhurst/October 1, 2026ย โย As communities across Canada recognize National Seniors Day, the County of Simcoe is shining a spotlight on the individuals, businesses and organizations helping make Simcoe County a more inclusive, accessible and supportive place for older adults through its annual Age-Friendly Recognition Awards.
Through the Countyโs Age-Friendly Community Program, nominations were accepted over the summer and reviewed by the Age-Friendly Committee. This yearโs honourees represent communities from across the region, including the Towns of Collingwood, Midland, Wasaga Beach, Penetanguishene and New Tecumseth; the Township of Clearview; and the Cities of Barrie and Orillia.
National Seniors Day, observed annually on October 1, is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the contributions that older adults make to our families, workplaces and communities. The Countyโs Age-Friendly Recognition Awards reflect this spirit by highlighting residents and organizations that are helping create a region where people can age with dignity, connection and purpose.
