❤️ HURONIA WEST OPP SUPPORTS COMMUNITY EVENTS ACROSS SIMCOE COUNTY
(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – Members of the Huronia West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to support and engage with communities through local events that bring residents, businesses, and community partners together.
On Tuesday October 6, 2026, as part of the final 2026 Wasaga Beach Farmers Market at the Wasaga Beach RecPlex, the OPP joined local emergency services and community representatives for a friendly fall-themed pie tasting event. Local market vendors were invited to submit their favourite fall pastries, which were sampled and judged in a fun and informal tasting contest. The event provided an opportunity for community members to interact with local emergency service personnel while celebrating local businesses and vendors.
The OPP was pleased to participate alongside community partners, including local fire and paramedic services, in an afternoon focused on community spirit, collaboration, and supporting local agriculture. The market also featured an OPP cruiser display, allowing residents and visitors to meet officers, learn about policing initiatives, and explore police equipment firsthand.
On Friday October 9, 2026, in a separate community event, members of the Huronia West OPP participated in a local fall fair celebration, helping kick off a full day of family-friendly activities. Officers led the annual school parade through the community and joined participants on bicycles as students from local schools marched along the main street.
The parade marked the beginning of a day filled with entertainment and traditional fair activities, including animal shows, antique tractor pulls, and the ambassador program/variety night. The event brought together residents of all ages and showcased the strong community spirit that makes local fairs a cherished annual tradition.
The Huronia West OPP would like to thank event organizers, volunteers, vendors, students, and community partners who helped make these events memorable and successful.
