🇨🇦 County of Simcoe Concludes Week of Welcome with Citizenship Ceremony for 34 New Canadians
Midhurst/September 18, 2026 – The County of Simcoe concluded its fourth annual Week of Welcome by hosting a special Citizenship Ceremony in partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
The ceremony welcomed 34 new Canadian citizens, from 14 different countries, many of whom have established roots in communities across Simcoe County, marking an important milestone and celebrating their commitment to Canada and the region they now call home.
“Simcoe County is enriched by the diversity, talent, and experiences that newcomers bring to our communities,” said Warden Basil Clarke. “It is a privilege to celebrate this milestone with our newest citizens and officially welcome them as Canadians.”
As the culminating event of Week of Welcome, the ceremony reflected the County’s commitment to fostering welcoming and inclusive communities. The annual celebration brings together residents, community partners, employers, service providers, and newcomers to recognize the cultural diversity that contributes to the strength and vibrancy of Simcoe County.
