Meet Chai

Chai is a 2 years, 1 month old male Large Mixed Breed who weighs 36 kilograms and has been with us for 29 days.

Hi everybody!

My name is Chai, and I’m a handsome 2-year-old boy with a big personality and an even bigger nose for adventure! I’m clever, curious, energetic, and always ready to explore the world around me. If there’s an interesting scent nearby, you can bet I’m already investigating it. Some people might even call me a little sneaky, but I prefer to think of myself as an adventurer!

I’m a very smart dog and loving dog who likes hanging with my humans or staying busy! Puzzle toys, enrichment activities, and opportunities to use both my brain and body are some of my favourite things.

I’m looking for a family that understands I need both physical exercise and plenty of mental enrichment to be at my happiest. Keeping my mind busy is just as important as stretching my legs. My clever nature also means I can be quite resourceful, so I’ll need a family that can stay one step ahead of me.

When it comes to walks, I’m a wonderful adventure buddy. I’m not bothered by passing cars, loud trucks, or busy pedestrians. However, if I catch an exciting scent trail, I may pull a little while following my nose. Because I know how to slip out of standard collars, I require properly fitted, escape-resistant walking equipment, such as a secure harness and a Martingale-style collar, to help keep me safe while we’re out exploring together.

I enjoy spending time with other dogs and have shown friendly, social behaviour with my canine companions. I’m learning how to adjust my play style with dogs of different sizes and have demonstrated appropriate and playful social skills when meeting new dog friends.

My history with cats is unknown, so if you have feline family members, slow introductions and careful management will help set everyone up for success.

I have lived successfully with youth aged 12 and older. I’m a happy, enthusiastic guy who sometimes gets a little excited. I can admit that! Because of my energetic nature, a home with sturdy children aged 12+ would be the best fit for me.

If you’re looking for a clever, playful companion who will keep you smiling and make every walk feel like an adventure, I just might be your perfect match. Give me plenty of opportunities to sniff, explore, learn, and enjoy enrichment activities, and I’ll reward you with lots of love, loyalty, and tail wags.

Clever and Playful Tail Wags,

Chai Chai

Meet Bertie Bott

Bertie Bott is a 4 months old male Domestic Shorthair/Mix cat who weighs 2 kilograms and has been with us for 52 days.

Hi there, my name is Bertie Bott!

I’m a sweet 3-month-old guy with a gentle heart and a thoughtful little personality. I can be a bit shy when I first meet new people, so I like to take my time, find a cozy spot, and quietly observe all the goings-on around me.

Once I feel safe and comfortable, my sweet side starts to shine. I love gentle affection, quiet playtime, slow blinking at my favourite people, and curling up for peaceful little naps.

I’m looking for a calm and patient home where I can settle in at my own pace and build my confidence. Give me some time, a gentle voice, and plenty of understanding, and you’ll discover what a lovely little companion I can be.

I may not have a magic wand, but I think I can work a little magic of my own!

My adoption fee is $275, and it sets me up for a healthy, happy start-spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, internal and external parasite treatments, and my very own microchip ID are all included!

Curious to learn more about me? Come visit the GTHS and chat with one of our wonderful Adoption Counsellors. They’re open for adoptions every day from 12:00-4:00 pm and would love to help us meet.

Note that many cats do not reach full size until they are about a year and a half old. The weight listed here is Bertie Bott’s current weight.
