(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – Easter Long weekend is upon us, that means we can expect an increase in traffic in our area. The Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be participating in the annual Easter long weekend traffic campaign from Friday April 3 to Monday April 6. This year’s campaign focuses specifically on seatbelt use alongside the OPP’s “Big Four” traffic safety priorities:

• Seatbelt compliance

• Distracted driving

• Impaired driving

• Speeding

Community members can expect to see a strong OPP presence throughout the long weekend, focused on ensuring the safety of all road users through enforcement and education.

The Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP urge all motorists to prioritize road safety and make responsible choices behind the wheel. With increased traffic volumes expected, officers are committed to keeping Ontario roads safe for everyone.

If you suspect someone is driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, call 9‑1‑1. If you have information about suspected unlawful activity, please contact the OPP at 1‑888‑310‑1122, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1‑800‑222‑8477 (TIPS) or www.crimestopperssdm.com.
