(WASAGA BEACH AND SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON)- The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged four individuals with impaired operation.
On Friday, April 17, 2026, shortly before 10:00 p.m., Huronia West OPP responded to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver in the Town of Wasaga Beach. Officers located the vehicle a short time later and conducted an impaired operation investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Justin EMERY, a 42-year-old of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and charged with the following:
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Operation while impaired – alcohol
· Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
On Sunday, April 19, 2026, shortly after 2:00 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in Elmvale and subsequently entered an impaired operation investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Meghan ROBSON, an 18-year-old of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and charged with the following:
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Use other person’s licence
· Novice driver – B.A.C above zero
· Person under 19 years consuming liquor
· Person under 19 years entering licensed premises
· Presenting as evidence of age documentation not lawfully issued to person
· Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
Later that same day, shortly after 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of County Road 27 and County Road 6 in Springwater Township. Officers attended and conducted an impaired operation investigation.
As a result, Thomas HESCH, a 47-year-old of Elmvale, was arrested and charged with the following:
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Operation while impaired – alcohol
The three above accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, to answer to the charges.
Later in the evening, shortly before 10:00 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint in the Town of Wasaga Beach. Officers located the vehicle a short time later and conducted an impaired operation investigation.
As a result of that investigation, Michael FLAHIVE, a 33-year-old of Tottenham, was arrested and charged with the following:
· Failure or refusal to comply with demand
The above accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, to answer to the charges.
