    OJHL HALL OF FAME INDUCTING CLASS OF 2025 SUNDAY

    New members include ex-NHLer, team/league builder, prolific scorers

    May 2, 2025, Mississauga, ON – ….  The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) Hall of Fame will induct a five-member class as its second group of inductees during a ceremony in Oakville this Sunday, May 4, the OJHL announced today.

    The inductees include team and league builder Charlie Macoun, ex-NHLer Michael Cammalleri and prolific Jr. A scorers Trent Walford, Steve Novis and Darren Haydar. More on the Class of 2025 here: https://www.ojhl.ca/ojhl-hall-of-fame-introduces-its-class-of-2025/

    The new inductees will be joined by family members and OJHL officials at Sunday’s ceremony. The event is being sponsored by OJHL Sponsor Baron Rings and the Hilton Garden Inn Toronto/Oakville host of the event. Veteran Sportscaster Cory Woron will serve as emcee for the event. 

    “We are delighted to induct this year’s nominees to the OJHL Hall of Fame who are all very deserving of this honour,” said Rick Morocco VP Business Operations, OJHL. “Special acknowledgement and thanks to the support of our sponsors, Baron Rings, Hilton Garden Inn Toronto/Oakville and the Selection Committee for all the work they have done this past year.”

    The OJHL Hall of Fame Selection Committee determined this year’s slate of Hall of Fame inductees after reviewing nominations submitted by members of the public and personnel within the OJHL.

    The Selection Committee is comprised of OJHL Board of Directors Chairman Stuart Hyman; Izak Westgate, Manager of Outreach Exhibits and Assistant Curator, Hockey Hall of Fame; Burlington Cougars Governor and former NHL player Ron Sedlbauer; retired journalist John Cudmore; Rick Morocco, Executive Director, OJHL Foundation and; OJHL Communications Director Jim Mason.

    All new inductees will be housed on the OJHL Hall of Fame virtual website, which was launched in May of 2024.  The OJHL Hall of Fame was established to honour and preserve the history of the great athletes and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development and advancement of the OJHL and who have performed with highest distinction in the OJHL and beyond.

    The Ontario Junior Hockey League is the largest Junior ‘A’ league operating under the auspices of the Canadian Junior Hockey League with 24 member clubs. A proud member of the CJHL and Ontario Hockey Association, the OJHL was originally named the Ontario Provincial Junior ‘A’ Hockey League and it was formed out of the Central Junior ‘B’ Hockey League in 1993-94. With a long and storied history of developing players for the next level, including U SPORTS, the NCAA, CHL, minor pro ranks and the NHL, the OJHL has had more than 100 commitments already this season.
