Collingwood OPP Detachment Board Wants to Hear from Collingwood Residents

    Sharing is SO MUCH APPRECIATED!

Collingwood, ON [26 June 2025] – The Town of Collingwood OPP Detachment Board is updating its multi-year policing priorities in Collingwood and is seeking public feedback in the formulation of this plan. A brief survey is now open to best determine what the public feels policing priorities should be over the next few years in Collingwood.

The Collingwood OPP Detachment Board consists of local politicians and municipal/ provincial citizen appointees. Among their legislated duties is advising the OPP Detachment Commander regarding policing priorities as determined by Collingwood residents. The Board is mandated by the Community Safety and Policing Act, which took effect on April 1st, 2024. This revised legislation offers more autonomy to the Board regarding community engagement, setting priorities, and communications.

Between June 26 and July 16, 2025, a 5-minute survey is available on the Town’s website.

The survey is anonymous, and results will help inform the priorities and understand satisfaction levels regarding policing in Collingwood. Results will be published and shared with the OPP Detachment Commander to assist in the development of a multi-year plan for policing in Collingwood.

Accessible versions of the survey are available by contacting Service Collingwood at 705-445-1030 or visiting Town Hall at 97 Hurontario Street during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding statutory holidays).
