DateTuesday, July 15, 2025
TimeSession 1: 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Session 2: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Location485 Second Street, Common Room (accessed through the parking lot)

DetailsThese sessions are for community members to ask questions and learn more about the planned redevelopment of 29 and 45 Birch Street in Collingwood. Both sessions are considered “drop-in”, meaning residents are welcome to arrive and depart at any point during either session.

About the planned project

This project will replace the current structures at 29 and 45 Birch Street with a new, modern building that is designed to be aesthetically pleasing and that recognizes the neighbourhood’s character, while allowing future residents to have convenient access to local transit and services. The new three storey building is expected to be home to approximately 30 units, an increase from the existing nine units that are currently at the location.

With a need for more affordable housing within the area, the Town of Collingwood responded to the County of Simcoe’s Municipal Call for Proposals in 2024 with a proposed generous land donation at 29 & 45 Birch Street. The site already has access to amenities and site services.

About the County of Simcoe

County of Simcoe is composed of 16 member municipalities and provides crucial public services to County residents in addition to providing paramedic and social services to the separated cities of Barrie and Orillia. Visit our website at simcoe.ca
