    2025 Civic Holiday Town Hall Closure

    The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents of upcoming service changes due to the Civic Holiday.

    Town Hall will be closed on Monday, August 4, 2025. Town Hall will re-open with regular hours on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

    Waste Collection

    Curbside waste collection will occur as usual on Monday, August 4, and for the remainder of the week. Operations staff have provided additional reminders regarding collection:

    • Weekly bag limit: first garbage bag is free, second bag must be tagged, third bag must have two tags.
    • If you are placing your bins out the night before collection day, they must be placed at the curb after 7:00 p.m.
    • All garbage, compost and recycling must be curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.
    • The cardboard is to be flattened, cut into 18″ x 24″ pieces and placed next to your recycle bins.
    • Ensure your garbage box Full/Empty tab is tethered to the bin and fully visible to the collection crew.
    • Landfill and Recycling Depot Hours: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    The Blue Mountains Public Library

    The Blue Mountains Public Library (173 Bruce St. South) and Craigleith Heritage Depot Museum and Archive (113 Lakeshore Rd. East) will be closed on Monday, August 4, 2025. Both the Library and Depot will re-open with regular hours on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. During this closure, we invite you to explore our digital collections, databases and online exhibits anytime by visiting www.thebluemountainslibrary.ca.

    Beaver Valley Community Centre & Arena

    The Beaver Valley Community Centre will remain open on Monday, August 4, for private pickleball rentals.

    Other Services

    All essential services will continue to operate throughout the holiday weekend. Online services are available 24/7 on the Town website.
