Collingwood, ON [11 May 2026] – The Town of Collingwood, along with the Collingwood–Katano Sister City Committee, is pleased to invite residents to explore the Collingwood–Katano Sister City storyboards, now on display in the front windows of Town Hall, 97 Hurontario Street.

The storyboard project was created to celebrate, share, and reflect on the long standing friendship between our two communities. Through photographs, stories, and key milestones, the storyboards highlight cultural exchanges, community connections, and the people who have helped sustain this relationship over the years. Displaying the storyboards in the Town Hall windows allows the community to easily engage with and learn more about this ongoing friendship.

This project also marks an important milestone, as November 2026 will commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Collingwood–Katano Sister City relationship. Displayed during Asian Heritage Month, the storyboards and related tributes provide an opportunity to reflect on the cultural exchange and mutual respect that have defined this partnership for more than four decades.

To further recognize this legacy and reaffirm our ongoing commitment to international friendship, the Collingwood–Katano flag will be raised (non-ceremonial), on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Community Flagpole outside the Collingwood Public Library.

The storyboards at Town Hall will remain on display for the month of May.
