(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – On April 2, 2025, at approximately 11:22 p.m., members of the Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of High Street and First Street in Collingwood, ON. Officers had prior knowledge that the driver of the vehicle was wanted in connection with a theft at the local Metro store.
During the traffic stop, police arrested the driver for the outstanding theft charge. Further investigation led to the arrest of a second individual involved in that theft incident. As the investigation progressed, an additional passenger in the vehicle was identified as a suspect in a separate theft from Living Water Resorts in Collingwood.
All three suspects were arrested and charged with Theft Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. Following their arrests, the individuals were released from the scene with conditions and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on April 29, 2025.
