Meet Bo (Underdog)

Bo (Underdog) is a 2 years, 7 months old male Large Mixed Breed who weighs 26 kilograms.

Yeehaw, folks! Name’s Bo Duke-yep, that Bo, partner-in-crime to my brother Luke. Just like the original Duke boys, I’m a whole lot of energy, charm, and mischief rolled into one handsome package. I came in as a stray with Luke, and now I’m looking for a forever family who’s ready for some action-packed adventures (and plenty of training to keep me on the straight and narrow!).

I’m about 2.5 years old, so I’ve got some growing up under my belt, but don’t be fooled-I’m still a high-octane, rowdy boy who loves to run, jump, and play. Sometimes I get too excited and will jump up, mouth, or even mount when I don’t know how else to handle my big feelings. I also don’t love when people grab my collar suddenly-it makes me nervous-but I did great with a bath, so I know I can learn that handling can be positive with trust and practice.

On leash, I can be strong and pull toward people or dogs (who wouldn’t want to say hi?), but with positive reinforcement, I can learn calm walking skills. I get a little vocal in my kennel when other dogs pass, but once I’m out in the yard, I usually start polite, enjoy some rowdy play, and then let the other dog know when I’ve had enough. I’ve got good doggie communication skills and prefer friends who respect my signals. Cats? Well, jury’s still out on that one.

Because I’m a big, excitable boy who can get over-aroused, I’m best suited for older kids (16+) and an experienced adopter who knows their way around high-energy dogs. What I really need is structure, calm guidance, and positive reinforcement training to help me shine. With the right family, I’ll be the loyal, fun-loving, adventurous sidekick you’ve been looking for.

So, what do you say-wanna saddle up and take this Duke boy home? I promise life will never be boring with me by your side.

I’m part of the Underdog Program, meaning I have some behavior challenges to work on. Don’t worry, the GTHS will provide resources to help us succeed, including a free consult with a behavior specialist and a special adoption kit full of goodies. I’m a smart, loving boy, and with love, patience, and some training, I know I’ll be the best dog you have ever had!

My Underdog adoption fee is $100 and includes my spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, dewormer and a microchip. If you want to learn more about me, please come visit the GTHS and speak with one of the amazing Adoption Counsellors! The GTHS is open for adoptions from 12pm-4:00pm, every single day of the week and they would be thrilled to introduce you to me! I can’t wait to meet you and am looking forward to starting my new life with my new family!

Our resident chaos coordinator, “Frankie Malloy” is staging another animal-pocalypse, and this time it’s going down on a Wednesday (because why should weekends have all the fun?). Enjoy the video!!!

Meet Duckie

Duckie is a 3 years, 4 months old female Domestic Shorthair/Mix cat who weighs 4 kilograms.

Hi, I’m Duckie! I’m a 3-year-old sweetheart with the cutest eyes you’ve ever seen (or so I’ve been told). I’m affectionate, loving, and sometimes a little chatty when I want your attention-I just have a lot to say! My previous family described me as a “playful, active couch potato,” which I think sums me up perfectly. I love a good play session, but I’m just as happy to curl up beside you and soak up all the love.

Some of my favourite things? Getting snuggles from my humans and munching on Temptations treats. I get along well with other cats (with proper introductions) and I’ve even lived with dogs before and did just fine! I’d also be happy to share my home with kids-just keep an eye on the toys. I have a special fondness for certain ones, and the adoption counselor will fill you in on my funny little obsession.

If you’re looking for a cuddly companion with a playful side and the most adorable eyes, I just might be your girl.

My adoption fee is $185 and includes my spay/neuter, internal and external parasite treatments, up to date vaccinations and an ID microchip!
