Town of The Blue Mountains Fire Department Hosting Annual Open House on October 4, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains Fire Department is excited to welcome the community to their Annual Open House on Saturday, October 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Thornbury Fire Hall – 496916 Grey Road 2. 

The event serves as the kickoff to the 103rd anniversary of Fire Prevention Week, and will feature activities for the whole family including a free BBQ, bouncy castle, “push-in” ceremony of the department’s new ladder truck at 2:00 p.m., birthday cake with Sparky the Fire Dog, service-award presentations and fire truck display. There will also be an opportunity to enter a draw to be “Fire Chief for a Day.”

The National Fire Protection Association’s Fire Prevention Week runs from October 5-11, 2025. This year’s theme is, “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.” The focus is on educating people about safely using lithium-ion batteries, and emphasizes the importance of buying, charging, and recycling these batteries safely.
