OPP CHARGE RIDE-SHARE DRIVER AFTER REPORT OF SEXUAL ASSAULT
(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested an individual following a reported sexual assault in Wasaga Beach.
On Sunday, June 14, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a ride-share driver and their passenger. The victim was not known to the accused.
As a result of the investigation, Higgs BHOLA, 58-years-old from Barrie, was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault under the Criminal Code.
The accused was held for bail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, to answer to the charges.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are committed to ensuring all individuals affected receive the support and justice they deserve.
