The Town of The Blue Mountains Fire Department is excited to welcome the community to their Annual Open House on Saturday, October 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Thornbury Fire Hall โ 496916 Grey Road 2.
The event serves as the kickoff to the 103rd anniversary of Fire Prevention Week, and will feature activities for the whole family including a free BBQ, bouncy castle, โpush-inโ ceremony of the departmentโs new ladder truck at 2:00 p.m., birthday cake with Sparky the Fire Dog, service-award presentations and fire truck display. There will also be an opportunity to enter a draw to be โFire Chief for a Day.โ
The National Fire Protection Associationโs Fire Prevention Week runs from October 5-11, 2025. This year’s theme is, โCharge into Fire Safetyโข: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.” The focus is on educating people about safely using lithium-ion batteries, and emphasizes the importance of buying, charging, and recycling these batteries safely.
