The Town of The Blue Mountains is proud to recognize National Physicians Day on May 1, 2026, and acknowledge the vital role physicians play in supporting the health and well-being of individuals and families across the community and Canada.

National Physicians Day is an opportunity to reflect on the dedication, skill and compassion demonstrated by physicians every day. The Town extends its appreciation to those serving The Blue Mountains, whose commitment helps ensure that residents of all ages have access to high-quality medical care.

The Town is also proud to celebrate continued progress in strengthening local healthcare services through physician recruitment efforts. In April 2026, the community welcomed Dr. Julie Plume as a new family physician at the Clarksburg Medical Group, building on the momentum from late 2025 when Dr. Sonia Bali joined the community to serve patients at the Blue Mountains Health Care Centre.

These additions reflect the ongoing efforts of Council and the Family Physician Recruitment Working Group, whose mandate is to help address the critical need for local healthcare services. The Working Group brings together residents, health clinic representatives, staff, and Council members to support physician recruitment and retention through coordinated, community-based efforts.
