Meet Pandora

Pandora is a 2 years, 7 months old female Large Mixed Breed who weighs 32 kilograms and has been with us for 51 days.
Hi, I’m Pandora!
And yes, my name may be a little mysterious… but there’s definitely one thing you’ll discover when you get to know me: I’m a whole box of surprises!
I’m a high-energy, clever girl who absolutely loves having a job to do. Give me a tasty treat and something to focus on, and I’m one happy pup! I’m incredibly food-motivated and very focused on my people, which makes me eager to learn and work alongside my favourite humans. I’m not particularly interested in toys, but who needs toys when there are snacks and adventures to be had?
I can be a little cautious when meeting new people and I may let you know how I’m feeling with a few barks. But with slow, patient introductions, I’ve been making wonderful progress and learning that new people can be pretty great! Once I’m comfortable, I’m a sociable girl who loves being around my people.
Now, I should probably confess one tiny thing… I’m an escape artist extraordinaire. Houdini has nothing on me! I’ve previously scaled fences around 8 feet tall. If there’s an opportunity to make a great escape, my curious brain may decide it’s time for an adventure! Because of this, I’ll need a family who takes my security very seriously and understands that an ordinary fence or open door simply isn’t going to stop this clever girl.
On walks, I can pull a little when I’m excited, but I’m generally pretty calm and unreactive to the things happening around me. I also enjoy meeting other dogs! I’ve walked nicely alongside calm canine friends and have shown respectful play with an appropriate playmate. I can get pretty rough-and-tumble during playtime, but I’m also a good sport and can adjust my play style to match my buddy. If you have another dog at home please bring them with you to meet me to make sure we get along!
I haven’t met any cats yet, so that part of my story is still unwritten and I’m looking for an experienced, patient family who will give me time to build trust, keep my clever brain busy, and make sure I’m safe and secure. Because I can get a little jumpy when excited and I’m a big girl, older kiddos 8+ would be the best fit for me.
Because October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, my adoption fee is has been reduced to $225 to help me find my home that much faster. My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, dewormer and a microchip. If you want to learn more about me, please come visit the GTHS and speak with one of the amazing Adoption Counsellors! The GTHS is open for adoptions from 12pm-4:00pm, every single day of the week and they would be thrilled to introduce you to me! I can’t wait to meet you and am looking forward to starting my new life with my new family!

Meet Miracle Max

Miracle Max is a 2 months old male Large Mixed Breed who weighs 6 kilograms and has been with us for 16 days.
Have you got a miracle for me? Because I’m hoping my miracle looks something like YOU!
I’m Miracle Max, a sweet little puppy who is ready to find my very own forever family. I may be small, but I’ve already mastered some very important puppy skills: being adorable, making people smile, and turning just about any moment into playtime.
Like any young pup, I’m still learning about the world and will need a family who can help me with all my puppy lessons. With patience, guidance, and lots of positive reinforcement, I’ll be well on my way to becoming the wonderful grown-up dog I’m meant to be.
I can’t promise to bring anyone back from the dead… but I can promise puppy kisses, silly antics, and a whole lot of love. So what are you waiting for? I’m practically a miracle already!
My adoption fee is $550 and includes my spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, de-wormer and a microchip.

Meet Monsoon

Monsoon is a 2 years, 7 months old male Domestic Medium Hair/Mix cat who weighs 4 kilograms and has been with us for 38 days.
Hi, I’m Monsoon!
I may be a little shy and quiet, but underneath my cautious exterior is a sweet kitty who is slowly learning that the world can be a safe and gentle place.
New places and new people can feel a bit overwhelming for me, so I sometimes prefer to hang out in one of my favourite hidey spots and watch everything from a safe distance. I’m still learning that humans can be friends, and tasty snacks are definitely helping me discover that people aren’t so scary after all! With a little patience, consistency, and plenty of positive experiences, I’m beginning to understand that I don’t always have to be afraid.
I may not be jumping into your lap right away, but I really appreciate peaceful company and having someone who is willing to let me set the pace. I’m looking for a calm, compassionate home where my people will celebrate the little things – like coming out of hiding, getting a little closer, or deciding that maybe a gentle interaction isn’t so bad after all. Every tiny step is a big deal to me!
I would do best with older children, preferably 12+, who understand that building trust takes time. I may be a quiet work in progress, but with the right person by my side, I’m hoping to blossom into a much more confident kitty. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who just needs someone willing to believe in him, I might be your Monsoon.
My adoption fee is $225, and it includes everything I need to go home with you-my spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, internal and external parasite treatments, and a microchip ID. Want to learn more about me? Come visit me at the GTHS and chat with one of our amazing Adoption Counsellors! We are open for adoptions every day from 12:00-4:00 pm.
