Your Candidate for Collingwood Town Council
I have been a resident of Collingwood and area since 1968. My wife, Patricia Miscampbell and I have a blended family of five children; three living in Collingwood. All are Collingwood Collegiate (CCI) graduates. We enjoy four grandchildren; aged 10 to 22 years.
After graduating from CCI, I studied at York University.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Self-employed since 1973; I am presently associated with Marcus and Millichap Investment Services Canada.
My government experience is at each level; Municipal, County, Provincial and Federal.
Former municipal councillor in Wasaga Beach serving for 15 years, appointed to Standing Committees of Public Works (Chair), Community Services (Chair), Development and General Government. Additional municipal experience includes; member of Committee of Adjustment, Collingwood Airport Board (Council Member and Vice Chair), 12 years on the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (former Chair).
I am appointed to the Simcoe County Planning Advisory Board. Ι
COMMUNITY and VOLUNTEERISM
A life long volunteer, I am a 38-year Rotarian, including as President and a Paul Harris Fellow. I am presently active with the South Georgian Bay Builders Association (Director/former Chair), Collingwood Ski Club (Member/past Director), Blue Mountain Golf and Country Club (Board Director/Committee member), Collingwood Curling Club (member), the Georgian Triangle Development Institute (GTDI – Board Director) and on the Development Committee and Board/Director of Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation. My membership with Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63 (Collingwood) is active.
I am a Founders member of the Collingwood Blues Hockey Club. I volunteer with a local Food Bank.
