2026 Fall Sanitary and Storm Sewer Flushing, Cleaning and Inspections

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that annual flushing, cleaning and inspections of sanitary and storm sewers will be conducted throughout the Town beginning in late August. Work is expected to be ongoing until late October.
The sanitary sewers will be flushed and cleaned using high-pressure water. There are no anticipated service-related impacts as a result of this work. However, residents should be aware that the high-pressure cleaning may empty drains and traps within nearby homes. In rare occasions, the pressure cleaning has resulted in water exiting drains and toilets. As a precaution, residents are advised to keep toilet seats closed and cover internal drains in sinks, tubs and floors.
After the work is complete, please run water in all plumbing fixtures including sinks, showers, tubs and toilets to ensure that the traps are full.
