COLLINGWOOD MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED AFTER CLIMBING WATER TOWER
(Collingwood, ON) – Members of the Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a local male after he climbed the Town of Collingwood water tower.
On Saturday, August 22, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers received multiple calls regarding a male who had climbed the Collingwood water tower. Police attended the scene alongside members of the Collingwood Fire Department.
Officers engaged with the individual and were able to have him safely descend from the tower.
As a result, Brandon DEITER, a 36 year old from Collingwood was subsequently arrested and charged with:
- Mischief Endangering Life
- Enter Premises When Entry Prohibited
- Engage in Prohibited Activity on Premises
- Being Intoxicated in a Public Place
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was held for bail and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice to these charges.
The Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP would like to thank the Collingwood Fire Department and members of the public for their assistance and cooperation during this incident. Through the coordinated efforts of emergency responders, the situation was resolved safely without injury. The OPP remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities.
