    PROSPECTS SERIES, GOVERNORS’ SHOWCASE, ALL-STAR GAME ON OJHL CALENDAR

    June 30, 2025, Mississauga, ON – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) reflected on a very successful 2024-25 season while looking forward to 2025-26 during its annual meeting Saturday.

    The 24-team league enjoyed record attendance during its playoffs this spring. The Trenton Golden Hawks won the Championship Series and advanced to the semifinals at the Centennial Cup National Championships in Calgary during May.

    Looking ahead to next season:

    • The OJHL’s popular Governors’ Showcase event returns to Niagara Falls, ON, Sept 15-17 for a second year. All OJHL teams will play two games each in front of Canadian Hockey League, NCAA and U SPORTS scouts.
    • The OJHL announced a new Prospects Series that will feature four teams, which will play three games each. The top two teams will face off in a championship final. Games will be scheduled throughout the season with dates and locations to follow. 
    • The OJHL All-Star Game will take place in Milton on Jan. 18, 2026.
    • The league will continue to use video goal review after a successful launch in 2024-25.

    The newly elected OJHL Board of Directors includes:

    • Stuart Hyman (Markham) – Chair
    • Ron Sedlbauer (Burlington) – Vice Chair
    • Jason Tryfon (Milton) – Director
    • Jim Thomson (Aurora) – Director
    • Jason Melo (Leamington) – Director

    About the OJHL – “League of Choice”

    The Ontario Junior Hockey League is the largest Junior ‘A’ league operating under the auspices of the Canadian Junior Hockey League with 24 member clubs. The OJHL is the home of the 2024 Centennial Cup champion Collingwood Blues. A proud member of the CJHL and Ontario Hockey Association, the OJHL was originally named the Ontario Provincial Junior ‘A’ Hockey League and it was formed out of the Central Junior ‘B’ Hockey League in 1993-94. With a long and storied history of developing players for the next level, including U SPORTS, the NCAA, CHL, minor pro ranks and the NHL, the OJHL has had more than 120 commitments this season.
