Citizen Calls in Impaired Driving, Charges laid by Collingwood OPP
(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – On February 05, 2025, a citizen reported a possible impaired driver to the Ontario Provincial Police. The incident happened in the East end of the Town of Collingwood around 4:00 pm. The driver, it was reported, was in a Ford Escape driving with the hatch open and had committed several traffic violations.
An officer of the Collingwood OPP responded and found the vehicle halfway into a snowbank at Beachwood Road and Bellholme Lane. Further investigation led to the officer arresting the female driver for impaired driving.
55-year-old Rhonda Norlander of Wasaga Beach, ON has been charged with:
ยท Failure or Refusal to comply with Demand (Criminal Code)
ยท Having care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available (Cannabis Control Act)
ยท Fail to Yield to Traffic (Highway Traffic Act)
The motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days, and the accused is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on February 18th, 2025
