(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – On Thursday, July 31, 2025, at approximately 6:36 a.m., an officer from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on First Street at Oak Street in Collingwood. The early morning stop led to the arrest of a Wasaga Beach resident on multiple charges.
Fabio GAGLIARDI, 42 years old, of Wasaga Beach, has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol, Criminal Code
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), Criminal Code
- Drive motor vehicle – no permit, Highway Traffic Act
- Fail to surrender insurance card, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
- Having liquor in open container, Liquor Licence and Control Act
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available, Cannabis Control Act
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, Highway Traffic Act
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on September 9, 2025.
As the Civic Long Weekend approaches, officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP will be focusing on driving behaviours that are contributors to serious collisions and fatalities on Ontario roadways.
The OPP reminds all motorists that road safety is a shared responsibility. Officers will be out in full force this long weekend to help ensure everyone arrives at their destination safely.
