
COLLINGWOOD OPP ARREST AND CHARGE IMPAIRED DRIVER

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a motorist with impaired operation.
On August 9, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers located a vehicle partially in a ditch near Osler Bluff Road and Highway 26. Officers conducted a wellness check on the driver, which subsequently led to an impaired driving investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Daniel ROBINSON, 45 years old, of Tara, Ontario, has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date. In addition to the charges, the accused’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
