
COLLINGWOOD OPP CHARGE THREE MOTORISTS WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

(Collingwood, ON) – Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three motorists with impaired driving following three separate traffic stops.
On September 17, 2026, at approximately 12:00 a.m., officers conducted a proactive traffic stop in the area of Pine Street and Fourth Street in Collingwood. During the investigation, officers developed grounds to believe the driver was operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
As a result, Gourav SHARMA, 28 year old of Cornwall, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driver fail to surrender licence
- Fail to notify change of address
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
- Window obstructed
On September 17, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers received a traffic complaint in the area of Hume Street and St. Marie Street in Collingwood. Officers located the vehicle and commenced an impaired driving investigation.
As a result, Jose GUERRERORIVERA, 36 year old of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and charged with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Have care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
- Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt
- Drive without proper rear light – motor vehicle
On September 20, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m., officers conducted a proactive traffic stop in the area of Highway 26 and Barrington Trail in Collingwood. During the traffic stop, officers formed grounds to begin an impaired driving investigation.
As a result, Rajdeep SINGH, 26 year old of Collingwood, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive motor vehicle – no licence
- Fail to surrender insurance card
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
- Drive with improper headlights
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date. In addition to the charges, each driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicles were impounded for seven days.
