EXCITING NEWS FROM CANADA’S FIRST PRO INDOOR FACILITY | SWING COURTS

    Sharing is SO MUCH APPRECIATED!

Wishing Everyone All The Best – Many Great Memories and Friendships at Swing Courts, THANK YOU!!! – Malloy

We are thrilled to share an exciting new chapter for Canada’s first dedicated professional indoor
pickleball facility, which not only introduced the world’s fastest growing sport to the Canadian pickleball
community, but also added a courtside proshop and licensed lounge for players to enjoy spectating with
friends and family, adjacent to the courts. Swing has held the Ontario Provincial Championships, the
first Special Olympics Pickleball Event, several Pickleball Canada Coaching Certifications, many
tournaments and tournament preparation instructional clinics, and still holds court as North America’s
    first indoor GLOWBALL facility!

Swing has grown into far more than just a place to play – it has become a home for new friendships and
lifelong bonds. The club has been a haven of connection where players support each other through
life’s changes, celebrate milestones and rally together for causes. Since opening its doors amid Covid 19
lockdowns and provincial restrictions, the club has been a vibrant hub for pickleball enthusiasts of all
ages and skill levels, offering a welcoming community, state-of-the-art courts, and an unmatched
playing experience. Andrea’s dedication, passion and pioneering spirit built the foundation for private
investment in the Canadian pickleball community, and her legacy will always be a part of our story.

Effective today, August 15th we are proudly transitioning the club ownership and are delighted to
welcome Bret Shepley, who brings the vision, energy and academic resources to take the club to exciting
new heights. This transition marks a thrilling opportunity to enhance programs, expand events and
tournament competition, and focused academic curriculum training for all of our members and guests.
Bret’s diverse background in business development, sports leadership and community engagement will
set the club apart. With years of experience building successful programs and fostering strong inclusive
communities, Bret brings the vision and drive to elevate the pickleball playing and instructional
experience at Swing into the future.

At 65 years of age, Bret brings a wealth of experience building successful programs, and fostering strong
inclusive communities. Married 44 years to his wife, Lori, he is a proud family man with one daughter,
two sons, one granddaughter and four grandsons, all of whom inspire his passion for the sport of
pickleball and his dedication to pickleball sport development in Canada. His remarkable 40-year career
with the Royal Bank of Canada is a testament to his dedication and leadership.

A few highlights of Bret’s pickleball background include:
 Started playing in August of 2019, shortly after retirement
 Learned the game through lessons from Taylored Pickleball Academy
 Started coaching in 2023 and obtained Level 1 and Level 2 certification
 Part Owner of Pro Pickleball Team “Southwest Ontario Brewers” of the Canadian National Pickleball League (“CNPL”)
     President of Tobermory Pickleball Club (2021 – 2024)
 Organized and ran weekly youth pickleball instruction for 80+ youth on the Bruce Peninsula
 Recently appointed Director of Player Personnel for Team Canada for the World Pickleball Championships in Jupiter, Florida set for late October 2025

Bret is looking forward to getting to know all of Swing’s members and visitors over the coming days,
weeks, and months. He will be communicating fairly regularly as we start this journey together of
growing the rich pickleball community history that has already been established at Swing.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FACILITY WILL BE CLOSED AUGUST 16TH AND AUGUST 17TH FOR REGULAR
MAINTENANCE. WHEN PLAY RESUMES ON MONDAY AUGUST 18TH, THERE WILL BE NO COURT COSTS
FOR THE REST OF AUGUST. INSTEAD OF VISITOR AND COURT FEES, THERE WILL BE A DONATION BOX AT RECEPTION WITH ALL PROCEEDS GOING TO BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF GREY BRUCE, AND WEST SIMCOE COUNTIES.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the courts!

    Bret Shepley and Andrea Williams
