    Stay Cool in Collingwood: Enjoy the Comfort of Cooling Centres

    Collingwood, ON [17 June 2024] – With the high temperatures forecast for the next few days, the following sites in Collingwood are available to the public as cooling centres during regular hours of operation.

    Collingwood Public Library – 55 Ste. Marie Street
    •    Monday to Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
    •    Friday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    •    Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    A water bottle refill station with a fountain is available

    Centennial Aquatic Centre – 451 Third Street
    •    Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
    •    Saturday    8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    •    Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    ** Hours may change week to week, please visit the Aquatics page for up-to-date schedules: https://www.collingwood.ca/aquatic-programs.

    Central Park Arena – 85 Paterson Street
    •    Monday to Thursday 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    •    Friday 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    •    Saturday CLOSED
    •    Sunday 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
    ** Hours are based on ice rentals and are subject to change.

    Museum / Station – 45 St. Paul Street
    •    Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    •    Sunday CLOSED

    Transit Terminal – Second & Pine Street
    •    Monday to Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

When you get to a facility with a water refill station follow the water drop decals to lead you to water.During Heat Waves:•    Drink fluids, especially water, before feeling thirsty.
    •    Slow down! Your body can’t function as well in high temperatures.
    •    Cool down in a cool store, public library, or community pool.
    •    Shade heads and faces with a loose-fitting ventilated hat or umbrella outdoors.
    •    Dress appropriately in lightweight, light-coloured, and loose-fitting clothing.
    •    Avoid getting sunburned. It decreases the body’s ability to cool.
    •    Never leave infants, children or pets inside a parked vehicle.
