✅ Doors Open invites residents, visitors to visit Simcoe County’s cultural and heritage assets

Midhurst/September 10, 2026 – Tourism Simcoe County, in partnership with its municipal partners, is proud to announce the return of Doors Open Simcoe County, a celebration of the region’s rich cultural heritage and historic landmarks. Taking place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event invites residents and visitors alike to discover the stories, people, and places that have shaped Simcoe County through exclusive access to some of its most treasured sites.

This year, 22 unique locations will participate, offering free public access to sites of historical, architectural, natural, or cultural significance. Places such as the Oro African Methodist Church, the Coldwater Museum, and the Leacock Museum National Historic Site will open their doors. Doors Open Simcoe County is part of the Doors Open Ontario initiative, a province-wide heritage and cultural tourism program. Each year, participating sites vary, showcasing a diverse mix of modern and heritage buildings, from museums and places of worship to trails, natural areas and even private businesses.
