The Mike Jackson Collingwood Blues produced a solid 60 minute game in downing the Georgetown Raiders 7-1 Sunday afternoon.
Both teams were working hard from the opening face off and some stellar stops by Blues Owen Edwards and Raiders Michael Marandola kept the game at zero after 20 minutes.
For Edwards the win featured a number of big saves in a bounce back from Fridays loss toToronto Patriots. For Marandola another long night of work with strong play that didn’t get results. Saturday night he stopped 48 of 52 shots in a loss then had to face 41 shots Sunday.
The high work ethic by both teams continued into the second but eventually the more talented Blues took over.
League leading scorer Atom Thususka had a hat trick in the second and Will Hughes had a single in a four goal out burst. Two of Thususkas goals came with in a minute of each other to break the 0-0 tie. He set up Huges before scoring his hat trick goal … Maverick Secours got the only Georgetown goal after the Blues made it 4-0.
In the third, Hughes added his second as Trevor Zanutto and Ethan Neller also counted to round out the scoring at 7-1.

Final score proudly brought to you by The Hockey Mill: Collingwood’s Hockey & Skating Training Facility.
