✅ Applications Open for Tourism Collingwood Board of Directors
Collingwood, ON [16 July 2026] Tourism Collingwood (TC) is inviting community members to apply for positions on its new Board of Directors, offering a unique opportunity to help shape the future of tourism in Collingwood.
TC is funded by a portion of net Municipal Accommodation Tax revenues to promote Collingwood as a premier, year-round destination and will play an important role in guiding tourism enhancement, investment, and strategy. The organization is seeking individuals with diverse perspectives, skills, and a shared commitment to supporting sustainable tourism growth.
“This is a unique opportunity to be a part of an impactful new organization positioning Collingwood as a tourism hub of South Georgian Bay,” says Sonya Skinner, Town of Collingwood CAO and Interim Board Chair. “We’re looking for community-minded board members who can govern the investment of about a million dollars a year towards initiatives that produce sustainable growth and strengthen our local economy.”
Tourism plays a vital role in supporting local infrastructure, businesses, jobs, and overall economic growth. Board members will contribute to strategic planning, provide governance and oversight in collaboration with the Town, and collaborate with community partners to enhance Collingwood’s reputation as a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.
“This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about tourism in Collingwood and want to make a meaningful impact,” said Prerna Sharma, Manager of Economic Development. “We’re looking for forward-thinking leaders who can help guide tourism development and support our local businesses and experiences.”
Applicants are encouraged from a wide range of backgrounds. Experience in areas such as accommodations, arts, culture and heritage, culinary and restaurant, visitor attractions, retail, marketing, and community engagement is valued. Board and governance experience, diverse perspectives, and expertise in areas such as financial oversight, legal, human resources, policy, and strategic development are also needed to ensure a balanced and inclusive Board.
